Jason Batts

Jason Batts is a graduate student in the Master of Science in General Psychology (MSGP) program at the University of Memphis. Prior to joining Dr. Rudd’s lab and the Master’s program, he served three terms as an elected county prosecutor in Kentucky before stepping down to pursue a more active role in the study of mental health and the law.  His psychology-related research interests include the areas of severe depression, neuroplasticity, emotions, trauma, and decision-making.  His work often employs an interdisciplinary approach, drawing from his background to examine the overlap between psychology and the law.  Jason has served as an officer in the military since 2012 and is married to his wife, Cayce Batts.  They love spending time with family, serving others, and traveling in search of amazing Mexican food!  (They may have been known to fly to Phoenix or drive to New Orleans for a really good taco.)
